Middleton’s wrestling team wrapped up the Big Eight Conference dual meet championship on Jan. 25.

The Cardinals defeated Janesville Parker, 50-24, to win the league’s dual meet title.

Middleton’s Hunter Grimm notched a technical fall over Tracey Kessler, 17-0, at 113 pounds and Lesley Neisius pinned Drexel Norman in 42 seconds at 120. Jesus Quechol Ramirez defated Nicolas Lux, 17-2, at 138 and Joseph Hoffman pinned Damian Quaerna in 5:24 at 152.

Kevin Meicher pinned Treveon Sanda in 1:46 at 160 and Remington Lockwood pinned Jacob Law in 1:03 at 170. Cole Olmsted pinned Aleczander Anderson in 5:15 at 182, Elliot Zanon won by major decision over Salvador Acosta, 13-0, at 195 and Gavin Adler pinned Bryce Heerey in 5:50 at 220.

Middleton also defeated Hudson, 36-35, and dropped a 64-5 decision to Wisconsin Rapids at the Rapids Duals last Saturday.

In Middleton’s win over Hudson, Meicher pinned Garrett Wood in 52 seconds at 160 and Lockwood pinned Jacob Hansen in 1:17 at 170.

Zanon pinned Ben Steltzner in 1:21 at 195 and Adler pinned Shao Yang in 1:03 at 220. Jack Briggs pinned Hank Wettleson in 58 seconds at heavyweight, and Grimm notched a 6-5 win over Jacob Fanning at 113.

In Middleton’s loss to Rapids, Meicher notched a 19-4 win over Roger Fuller at 160.

• On deck: Middleton will be at the Big Eight Conference meet at Verona Saturday beginning at 10 a.m.
