VERONA–Christine (Christy) Jo Schoepp Miller passed away on Tuesday afternoon, May 18, 2021, after a courageous three-year battle with lung cancer in the comfort of her home in Verona, surrounded by family.

Her vibrant personality, sense of humor, and her "tell it like it is" honesty was genuine and loved by all who knew her.

Christy was born at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison on April 28, 1961, the second child of Shirley (Allely) Schoepp and her husband David J. Schoepp, the founder and owner of Schoepp Motors in Middleton and Madison.

As a child, Christy loved boating on Lake Wisconsin, snowmobiling, and skiing with her family. She graduated with many lifelong friends from James Madison Memorial High School in 1979.

After high school, Christy attended Arizona State University in Tempe, AZ, where she studied early childhood education. While working as a Montessori teacher in Tempe, she met her husband, Chris Miller. They were married on November 26, 1985. Together, they were blessed with two children, Ryan and Jenna.

Christy also enjoyed a successful real estate career in both Arizona and Florida. However, her true honors in life were that of daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Later in her life, her grandson, Kade, was the light of her life. She shared her love of God, family, and the Green Bay Packers with him.

Christy was passionate about animal rescue. Her 10-year-old Mastiff named "Maddy" was by her side to the end. "When my dog got sick, my mother took her in and cared for her like it was her own," said Christy's daughter Jenna.

Christy is survived by her parents, David and Shirley Schoepp; her children, Ryan Miller and Jenna (Chris) Warner; her grandsons, Kade and Elijah Warner; her former husband, Chris Miller; her brother, Douglas (Michelle) Schoepp; her paternal uncles, Linus and Paul Schoepp; her maternal uncles James and Kenneth Allely; her maternal aunts Jerrie Hurst and Carole Puhl; her niece and nephews, Shayle, Michael and Alexander Schoepp; her step-grandmother Ruth (Lair) Allely; and numerous cousins and many longtime friends.

She was predeceased by her paternal grandparents, Leo Henry Schoepp (October 1997) and Martha Mary (Ripp) Schoepp (December 1977), and her maternal grandparents Josephine (Lair) Walker (April 1969) and Marvin Willis Allely (February 1985), her aunts Leona M. Schoepp (January 1946) and Levina Rosaline Schoepp (March 1974); and her boyfriend Kevin Charles Meara (July 6, 2019).

Christy adored her family and friends and was grateful for their love and support.

A visitation was held at Gunderson Funeral Home in Middleton on May 26, 2021. A cremation interment was held at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery in Cross Plains.

Instead of flowers, please send donations to the UW Carbone Cancer Center at mycarbone.org/give. The family would like to thank Dr. Anne Traynor for her unwavering and compassionate care. A dogwood tree will be planted for Christy at her favorite location to be determined at a later time. Online condolences may be made at gundersonfh.com.
