CROSS PLAINS–Virginia “Ginny” (Esser) Faust, 93, of Cross Plains, passed away on Jan. 30, 2022, at Girlies Manor. She was born on July 18, 1928, to Frank and Martha (LaCrosse) Esser. She married Raymond J. Faust on Aug. 16, 1947, who died March 7, 1999.

She is survived by her four children, Allen (Janet Bouchard) Faust, Ronald (Gail Conner) Faust,

Sandra Faust (Wayne Buschmann) and David (Cheri Richter) Faust; eight grandchildren, Janet, Adrea, Tom, Theresa, Brian, Caroline, Michael, Michele and Rachel; several great-grandchildren, Anna, Maya, Natalie, Alex, Abigail, Chelsea, Brandon, Riley, Zane and Blake; sister-in-law, Ramona and her husband, Richard; and many relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Martha; husband, Raymond; brother, Marvin; daughter, Carol; immediate sister and brother-in-law, Rosemary and Robert; her father and mother-in-law, Hugo and Ottilia; husband's brothers, Curtis and Robert, with sisters-in-law, Dorothy and Lisa; and husband's sisters, Irene, Jeanette, Lucille and Shirley, and brothers-in-law, Ralph, Donald, Orville and Lester.

Ginny was a lifelong member of St. Francis Xavier Parish, an active Girl Scout leader in Cross Plains and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 245 since 1947. She served as president on the following levels of the American Legion Auxiliary: Unit 245, Dane County Council, Third District and Department of Wisconsin. She was a Badger Girls State Counselor for over 15 years. She also volunteered for the William S. Middleton VA Hospital for 17 years.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 2947 Thinnes St., Cross Plains, at 12 p.m. on Feb. 5, 2022. Burial will follow at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery. Visitation was held at the church from 9:30 -11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
