MIDDLETON–Nancy Ann Kippley, 84, of Middleton and Waunakee, died on May 15, 2022 at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg with her family by her side.

She was born on July 15, 1937 to Raymond (Ray) Seneca Richardson and Anita (Babler) Richardson at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison. She grew up in Verona and was a 1955 graduate of Verona High School where she played the trumpet and was a member of the school's swing band.

A dear friend of Nancy’s set her up on a blind date where she met the love of her life, Roger J. Kippley, and they were later married on Nov. 15, 1960 at St. Mary of The Lake Parish in Westport. At the time of their marriage, she worked at the Wisconsin State Dept. of Motor Vehicles in Madison while he farmed at what would later be one of the largest and most successful farming operations in southern Wisconsin.

This little city girl turned country and she worked by her husband’s side farming while raising their beautiful family.

Survivors of Nancy include her daughter, Karen (Joe) Wagner; sons, Randy, Jeff (Heather), and Kevin (Bobbi); 15 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Carol (Leo) Ziegler; and many nieces and nephews.

Nancy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roger (March 19, 2003); her parents, Ray (Jan. 28, 1984) and Anita (Aug. 23, 1983); brothers, David Ray Richardson (Jan. 9, 1976) and Kenneth E. Blake (April 15, 2009); her sister, Rachael Richardson Zink (Oct. 28, 2010); her brothers-in-law Marcel Blaire Zink (Dec. 2, 1980), and Robert A. Kippley (March 16, 1984); as well as her father and mother-in-law, Louis R. Kippley (Aug. 28, 1995) and Frances A. (Maly) Kippley (April 24, 1991).

Thank you, Mom, for the love you lavished upon all of us. You were always there to listen to us with a strong shoulder of support. We sadly lost Dad 19 years ago and now we must adjust to missing you. Our biggest consolation is that the two of you are together again, looking over us, whispering, “You can do this, remember all we taught you.” We love you Mom and Dad. You were the worlds’ greatest parents and grandparents and left a mark on our hearts that will never fade away.

A very special thank you to all the angels at Agrace HospiceCare who went above and beyond in special care of our mom during her short stay. Private funeral services were held at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church, Westport, with burial in the church cemetery.

Memorials may be made to St. Mary of the Lake Parish. The Winn-Cress Funeral Home, 578 Road Q, Waunakee, served the family.
