Jean was born on Jan. 25, 1935, in Sioux City, IA.
She married Robert Jolin in 1955 and they moved to Middleton, WI in 1959. Jean was the first woman elected to the Middleton City Council serving from 1963-1968.
While raising her four children she returned to school and earned undergraduate and master’s degrees at UW-Madison.
Jean taught seventh grade social studies for about 15 years at E.G. Kromrey Middle School starting in 1972 and was grateful for the many letters from former students throughout the years expressing the positive impact she had on their lives.
She moved to California in 2003 to enjoy her family, the warmth and sunshine. Ever the educator, she followed her passion and taught bridge to hundreds of players on cruises around the world, at local bridge academies and in private lessons.
