MADISON/MIDDLETON–Everett J. White, 89, passed away on May 11, 2022, at the Madison VA Hospital. He was born on March 13, 1933, in Reedsburg, to Everett and Bessie (Underhill) White. 

Everett was the eldest of nine children and grew up on the family farm. He attended grade school in the Township of Ironton and graduated from high school in Reedsburg in 1951. After high school, Everett worked at Badger Ordinance Powder Plant until he was drafted into the US Army from 1952 to 1955. While stationed in Fort Sill, OK, he married the love of his life, Darlene R. DeVault, on April 28, 1954. They just celebrated 68 years together.

In 1961, Everett and Darlene moved to Madison. He worked at various car dealerships until he opened his own business, Monarch Motors, in Middleton in 1967. He retired in 2014. Everett was known as “Corvair Guy,” and he helped restart Capital City Corvair Club in Madison.

Everett is survived by his wife, Darlene; son, Thomas (LuAnn) White; grandchildren, Becky (Gary) Halverson and Ben (Kathleen) White and great-grandchildren, Abby, Parker and Fiona; daughter, Linda (Randy) Grosse; grandchildren, Tanya (Jeff) Weaver and Kayla Grosse; son, James White and his beloved dogs; sister, Carolyn Labansky; brothers, Dale (Rose) White and David (Kris) White; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Robert, Kenneth, Garry and Ed; and sisters, Joyce and Joanne.

A memorial service will be held at Gunderson West Funeral and Cremation Care, 7435 University Ave., Middleton, at 12 p.m. on May 21, 2022. Family and friends who wish to view the service via Live Stream may do so by visiting Everett’s obituary page at gundersonfh.com and clicking on the Live Webcast link at  noon. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the start of the service on Saturday.
