CROSS PLAINS – Jerry Gray, this village’s long-time Director of Public Facilities, said an unusual event convinced him it was time to retire. 

The City of Middleton is replacing its 23-year-old financial software and needs help to find the right system as well as implement it over several years.

CROSS PLAINS - “We’re nearing the finish line,” Village President Jay Lengfeld said Monday (FEB. 24) as the Village Board approved spending nearly $277,000 for the Lions Legacy Pavilion’s components to be built in Zander Park. 

While blizzard and whiteout conditions are no laughing matter, the City of Middleton’s new snowplow is about to be named by Middleton elementary school children.

Sending Middleton High School students into the labor market with valuable and marketable skills was applauded by the Middleton-Cross Plains Area School District board members at the February 24 meeting.

The Middleton Common Council on Feb. 18 voted to approve hiring Baker Tilly to conduct a combined Classification and Compensation / Organizational and Operational Study.

At its February 10^th meeting, the Middleton Cross Plains Area School District school board voted unanimously to move forward with most projects in Phase 1 of the sustainability plan: fleet electrification, retro-commissioning all district buildings, and solar arrays on five buildings for an overall cost of $9,630,042.

Following three months of committee and commission debate and nearly two years after initial approval, the Middleton Common Council on Feb. 18 gave final approval to a working version of the city’s Sustainable Purchasing Policy.

The dispute between former Middleton Football Coach Jason Pertzborn and Middleton Cross Plains Area School District continued on January 17 of this year with a filing by Pertzborn’s lawyer, Brad Fulton of Caliber Law LLC, in Dane County Circuit Court.

At a meeting on February 17, 2025, the Middleton Law Enforcement Foundation (MiLEF) and Middleton Community Police Partnership (MiCOPP) discussed a potential consolidation aimed at streamlining their efforts to support the Middleton Police Department and its community programs.
